A specific chapter of the Bible will be focused on to help students get a better understanding of God each Tuesday night.

There is no fee to attend, and all students are encouraged to come and participate.

Poets invite others to meet in Quad

All students who write poetry or simply enjoy listening to others’ talent are invited to attend Midnight Poets meetings.

The Midnight Poets, a local group of poets and individuals who are interested in poetry, meet at midnight every Thursday at the Lady of the Mist in the Quadrangle.

The meetings include a night of music, verse and conversation.

The club was started by a small group of theatre majors in 1996.

Now the group includes students of other majors, as well as non-students who are interested in poetry.

Students, faculty invited to be blue

Tech students, faculty, and staff are invited to join in a new program entitled Tech Blue Friday.

The program was started by the department of residential life.

Jennifer Byrd, a recent Tech graduate and coordinator of student development, is one of many others who has helped to start Tech Blue Friday.

Byrd said this is an excellent way for students, faculty and staff to show their pride in the university.

This is the first year for the program.

Tech hopes to make this a tradition in showing each other, the community and visitors that students are proud to be a part of the Tech family.

All Tech students are asked to join with the other students, housing staff and orientation leaders in this uniting effort by wearing blue T-shirts on Fridays.

For more information about the program, contact Vince Miller, the director of orientation and special programs, at 257-3036.
