The latest trends for this fall are easy to find in Ruston.

Lewis' Department Store, located at 108 Park Ave., in downtown Ruston, labels itself as "your fashion store." To go along with this motto, Louisiana's oldest department store has put together a top 10 fall must-have list.

According to the list, the top 10 for girls are: pencil skirts, tweed and patterns, cropped jackets (paired with jeans), masculine trousers, stiletto heels, suede ugg boots, ponchos, crocodile bags, retro inspired accessories, metallic lips, and the colors brown, grey, black, teal and spruce.

Lewis' did not forget about the men, either.. Its "Stagg Shop," the section reserved for trendy males in the area, is advertising their latest arrivals and new looks from Buffalo and Mavi.

Open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday, Lewis' fashions can be spotted all over campus.

Another hot spot for the fashion obsessed in Ruston is Briley and Co., located at 106 N. Monroe St. "We've been very busy," Casey Murphy, a sophomore fashion merchandising major, who works at Briley and Co., said. "Our top selling items for the fall have been 7 jeans, blazers, stilettos, chandelier earrings and ugg boots."

Accessories are also hot for the fall. The Beehive Factory Outlet Store, located at 1901 N. Service Rd. East (exit 86), is an accessory sanctuary. There you can most likely find whatever type of accessory you are looking for to match any outfit.

The Beehive is a hit with many Tech students because of their factory-discounted prices. The store is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m Tuesday through Saturday.

Many Tech students venture east out of Ruston and take the 30 minute interstate drive to Monroe to shop. Off of the Garrett Road exit is Pecanland Mall, loaded with stores such as Wet Seal, Gadzooks, Express and Express Men to name a few.

I like the more conservative fall fashions," Meagan Quinn, a sophomore family and child studies major, said. "I'm glad we are getting away from the big, flashy, eighty-inspired trends."

Girls, while out trying to find that next big outfit, be sure to look for some of fall's other new trends: lace camisoles, layers, colored corduroy pants, rain boots and anything girly.

Guys, go buy something pink!
