An art show inspired by art students' trip to Paris is on display in the Visual Arts Center.

"Paris Exposition" is the name of the show and art ranging from paintings to photographs are on display.

John Sukmann, a senior graphic design major, went on the trip which took place during March and April.

"The purpose of the show was to bring back what we learned in Paris," Sukmann said.

"To bring back our experiences and have people see a glimpse of what we learned overseas."

Jonathan Donehoo, the program director and a professor and area coordinator of graphic design, also went on the trip.

"The trip was a success. The students raved about it, and I felt good about the overall trip," Donehoo said.

Eighteen students from several classes in graphic design, photography and studio participated.

Other faculty members who went on the trip are Kevin Kennedy, an associate professor and area coordinator of photography, and Dean Dablow, an art professor and director of the School of Art.

Dablow said the faculty spent two weeks doing preliminary work for the students to prepare them for the trip.

"The students worked all the time concerning their majors while they were in Paris and then came and produced all the work in the gallery," Dablow said.

Sukmann said he enjoyed the trip very much.

"Seeing masterpieces in person and studying them up close changed my perception and view totally," Sukmann said.

Donehoo said he encourages everyone to call the School of Art and make an appointment to see the show.
