5.                  Announcements:  Rick Simmons

A.                 Administrative and Planning Council Update-None

B.                 Awards and Elections – All information for those nominated will be on-line.  Please read the information for the upcoming elections so that you will be informed.   If a Senate member is unable to attend the May meeting, the Senate member must email or send a letter to Rick Simmons with the name of the person who will be their proxy in order for them to vote for the absent Senate member.

C.                 Technical Support – Rick Simmons reported that he had spoken to Dr. Rea on the need for additional staff to be hired in Technical Services.  Due to budget constraints, this probably will not be done next fiscal year.  However, at some point in the future, when the budget allows, this problem will be addressed.

D.                 Grievance Committee Appointments – This committee has 3 positions to be filled.  This committee serves only when there is a grievance, which happens very seldom.  Saul Zalesch volunteered to be the Liberal Arts member, and Peter Gallagher volunteered to be the ANS representative.  CAB Senate members will need to select someone from their college.

6.                  Treasurer’s report – A motion was made to accept the Treasurer’s report.  A motion was seconded and approved

7.                  Unfinished Business – F. J. Taylor Voting – The Senate voted.
