Current Criteria for the F. Jay Taylor, Virgil Orr, and University Senate Chair Award

Any faculty member in any area may be nominated for the University Senate Chair Award in accordance with the following criteria:

The nominee has a fuIl-time, non-administrative, tenured faculty appointment; and
The nominee has not previously received this award.

Any junior faculty member in any area may be nominated for the Virgil Orr Undergraduate Junior Faculty Award in accordance with the following criteria:

The nominee has at least a 9-month, fuIl-time, non-administrative appointment;
The nominee is either nontenure-track or untenured in a tenure-track appointment;
The nominee has responsibilities in undergraduate teaching, research and similar endeavors, and community/university service;
The nominee has not previously received this award;
The nominee must show a continuing committment to Louisiana Tech University.

The qualifications for the F. Jay Taylor Undergraduate Teaching Award follow:

The nominated faculty members primary duty must be undergraduate teaching;
The nominated faculty member must have a non-administrative position;
The nominated faculty member must be tenured or must have served on the faculty fuIl-time for at least 6 years;
The nominated faculty member must have at least a 9-month appointment; and
The nominated faculty member must not have received the award previously.
