The Ropp Center, which formerly housed Tech presidents, now supports faculty and staff life. In 2002, the Louisiana Tech University Foundation commissioned the renovation of the building and it reopened in 2003. The Italian-style, wood-frame home was built in 1911. It is named for the late R. L. Ropp, Tech's 11th president who served from 1949 to 1962.

The Ropp Center is now the oldest remaining structure in use on the Louisiana Tech campus.
