The Louisiana Tech Planetarium was built in the fifties and has been remodeled, painted, and recarpeted several times since. We are currently looking to upgrade our control panel and star projector. The planetarium can comfortably seat up to 120 people, and is of course climate controlled. The Planetarium has a dome of 40 feet in diameter. A Sptiz A-4 instrument projects the Milky Way Galaxy, including the sun, moon, planets, and approximately 3,000 visible stars, giving a correct and realistic simulation of the celestial sphere. We have a slide projection control room, an office, the main theatre, and storage space. We have an entrance hallway designed specifically to reduce light from entering, should someone enter late during a show. We have an "in use" warning light directly above the second entrance to indicate that the show has begun.
