Dear students, faculty, and staff,
Good Friday morning.
I hope you can all find time for rest this weekend and that part of your relaxation includes rooting for our Bulldogs as they take on the UTEP Miners in our Homecoming game. Join us at 6:30 p.m. Saturday in The Joe, or watch the game on ESPN2. Go Dogs!!
We are continuing to monitor the progress of Hurricane Delta. If the hurricane continues on its current track, our neighbors in Lake Charles will bear the brunt of the storm. We know that our friends and fellow Louisianans in SW Louisiana do not need another event like this. Please continue to support them during this time.
Our forecast says we will see rain and winds along with possible flooding throughout Friday night. If our area is under the threat of severe weather, please monitor your TV or radio and know that we will notify our RAVE subscribers via text message.
COVID-19 testing continues
We will continue to offer free testing for COVID-19 through Oct. 16 (next Friday) for students, faculty, staff, and members of the Ruston community. The Louisiana Army National Guard will continue to offer screening tests from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at Argent Pavilion.
Remember that registering ahead of time will help speed things along. Register online at https://www.doineedacovid19test.com/Ruston_LA_1462.html and print your testing voucher ahead of time.
Earlier this week, we shared the opportunity to get your flu shot at TechCare on campus. The vaccination clinic will be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15 and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21. The cost is only $20.
TechCare will continue to offer flu shots as well. The campus health center is open from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and is located in the Lambright Sports and Wellness Center.
Students must have insurance card as well as their student ID with them at time of visit. Faculty and staff members must have their insurance
If you have any questions or concerns, please call TechCare at 318.257.4866. More information is available online bit.ly/TechFluShots.
At 10 a.m. today, the Center for Instructional Technology will again join the College of Education’s HUB to host Louisiana Tech’s Q&A Café Office Hours. Join the Zoom meeting online for information and assistance with Tech’s online learning tools.
Have a great Homecoming weekend, Bulldogs. Remember to wear your masks and maintain appropriate physical distance in the stadium on Saturday while you cheer on our team!
