Dear Tech Family,
Good Saturday morning, and happy homecoming weekend! Hurricane Delta has begun to move out of our area. We know there has been some power outages and localized flash flooding in Lincoln Parish and are still assessing damage across the State of Louisiana.
Tonight, we’ll face the UTEP Miners in our Homecoming game. Remember to wear your masks and practice appropriate physical distancing – and have a great time!
Throughout the pandemic, our goals have been to help our students continue toward their academic goals and to ensure that the members of our community stay healthy and safe. We’re all responsible for working together to achieve these goals.
We continue to depend on our students, faculty, and staff to self-report either positive testing results, showing symptoms of the virus, or direct contact (within six feet for 15 minutes or more) with those individuals who test positive. When individuals self-report, we are able to connect them to resources and services through our Student Resource Team and the contact tracing program.
Louisiana Tech’s contact tracing program has been effective in helping our campus community slow the spread of COVID-19, and despite the fact that many classes are online, we need our Tech Family to continue to report.
Employees should notify their direct supervisor and Sheila Trammel in the Office of Human Resources at 318.257.2235 or email@example.com.
Students should email Stacy Gilbert at firstname.lastname@example.org and provide their name, campus ID, cell phone, whether they live on or off campus, and best contact method.
COVID-19 testing continues
We will continue to offer free testing for COVID-19 through Oct. 16 (next Friday) for students, faculty, staff, and members of the Ruston community. The Louisiana Army National Guard will continue to offer screening tests from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at Argent Pavilion.
Remember that registering ahead of time will help speed things along. Register online at https://www.doineedacovid19test.com/Ruston_LA_1462.html and print your testing voucher ahead of time.
Remember that Louisiana Tech’s benefits-eligible employees will have the opportunity to enroll in benefits plans through Nov. 15. Information on plan offerings and how to enroll will be sent from Corestream, our benefits provider, via your Louisiana Tech email accounts. For more information, call Human Resources at 318.257.2235 or email Taryn Soignier or Lauryn Brooks in the Human Resources Office.
Have a great weekend, Bulldogs. Take time to relax and prepare for the next week of classes.
