Dear campus community,
Good Saturday morning.
With a few weeks left in the Fall Quarter, we’re finalizing details for our Winter Quarter. We will continue to offer classes in a variety of formats – face to face, online, or hybrid – depending on the number of students and available classroom space.
Quarter break, Thanksgiving, and other times when we see our friends and families are on the horizon. Remember that our Culture of Caring extends to our families and friends as well. Wear your masks, avoid crowds, and maintain physical distance. Each of us has a responsibility to avoid bringing the coronavirus or flu home to our loved ones.
As we prepare for the Winter Quarter, we’ve put in place a process to continue accommodations for those who wish to continue their Fall 2020 class and work arrangements.
Students who wish to renew their Fall Quarter COVID-19 accommodations for Winter Quarter 2020-21 should fill out the COVID-19 Accommodation Request Form for Winter Quarter 2020-2021. In order to access the form, students should be logged into the GSuite through the CAS system. Students who were approved for a COVID-19 alternate classroom arrangements for Fall Quarter 2020 and are renewing for Winter Quarter 2020-2021 do not need to resubmit documentation unless contacted directly by Testing and Disability Services (TDS).
For new COVID-19-related accommodations, students should fill out the COVID-19 Accommodation Request Form for Winter Quarter 2020-2021. In order to access the form, students should be logged into the GSuite through the CAS system. Students who are requesting a new alternative classroom arrangement or other accommodation related to the COVID-19 pandemic must submit supporting documentation to TDS (email@example.com). Please see the TDS website for our full documentation requirements. Please note that the application process is not complete until you send appropriate documentation to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Submission of the form and/or documentation does not indicate approval of accommodations. TDS will contact students via email once the University’s committee has met on their application and documentation.
Students must complete the application process by the deadline of 5 p.m. Nov. 20.
Faculty and staff who wish to renew their Fall Quarter COVID-19 accommodations for the Winter Quarter should send an email request to renew the accommodations to their immediate supervisor. If the supervisor approves the renewal, the request should then be forwarded to the dean/division head for final approval. All renewals should then be forwarded by the deans/division heads to Human Resources for their records.
Online fee suspension
For the Winter Quarter, we will suspend the $25 per credit hour online fee. Once you have registered, you can view the tuition and fees on your BOSS Account Summary. If you registered for online courses, the fee will be shown with an amount of $0.
I hope you all have a relaxing weekend and can prepare for next week’s classes. Please continue to work hard in your classes and to curb corona!
