Dear students, faculty, and staff,
Good Tuesday morning.
One of the hallmarks of a rich campus life is access to services that enrich the student experience. Throughout the pandemic, we have aimed to provide those services while ensuring we’re adhering to advice of our state health experts in relation to gathering sizes.
At the beginning of the pandemic, the Louisiana Tech Career Center quickly pivoted to provide more services to students and alumni online. Now, the Center is working to bring back small in-person events in a safe manner.
Students have the opportunity to attend a Professional Dining Etiquette Dinner on Feb. 3 in the Davison Athletic Center. This event will include a five-course meal and presentation on professional dining. Limited seats are available, so reserve your space soon by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or visiting the event page through Handshake at https://latech.joinhandshake.com/events/655741.
The Career Center also offers in-person seminars on resume writing and interviewing skills. Space is very limited to adhere to physical distancing requirements, so RSVP at https://latech.joinhandshake.com/events.
The Center will continue to offer more virtual seminars and one-on-one appointments to help our students prepare for success in their career-planning journey and job search. Visit latech.edu/career-center for more information.
Please remember to schedule your regular COVID-19 test this week with one of our two free testing opportunities.
Free PCR testing at the Argent Alumni Pavilion will continue from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each weekday. The link to register for testing is http://health.questdiagnostics.com/STLOU.
TechCare in the Lambright Center will continue free antigen testing from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each weekday, with a break for lunch. Schedule your free test at https://gctechcare.simplybook.me/v2/#book.
Remember to wear your masks and maintain physical distance as we wait for the COVID-19 vaccine to become more widely available. Thanks for continuing to share our Culture of Caring, Bulldogs!
