Dear students, faculty, and staff,
Good Friday morning.
Thank you all for your positive reaction to our work to connect students, faculty, and staff to vaccine availability here in Ruston. Over 200 students took advantage of the local vaccine availability that we announced yesterday. Thank you!!
Beginning Monday, everyone over the age of 18 (16 with the Pfizer vaccine) is able to receive the COVID-19 vaccine in the state of Louisiana. I encourage everyone to review the Vaccine Locations list on the Louisiana Department of Health’s website (https://ldh.la.gov/covidvaccine-locations/) for information on scheduling an appointment.
We will have access to a limited number of vaccine appointments for faculty and staff at Northern Louisiana Medical Center. Each of these appointments will be on Wednesday, March 31, and the spaces will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
To indicate your interest in an appointment, please complete the employee survey at https://forms.gle/VTrpkd9Nohx6uRp86.
As a reminder, today we are opening the application for the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA) Grant for Spring Quarter on AcademicWorks. The application will remain open until April 9. Disbursements for the Spring Quarter funds will not begin until April 19 after all applications have been reviewed.
If you are eligible to apply for grant funding, you will be able to see the CRRSAA Grant when you log into AcademicWorks. For assistance with the process, please email CaresActGrant@latech.edu.
Testing times change
Let’s continue to reduce the spread of COVID-19 through regular testing. That is making a difference for us! The Louisiana Army National Guard will adjust its free testing schedule at the Argent Alumni Pavilion beginning Monday. Testing will now be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The link to register for testing is http://health.questdiagnostics.com/STLOU.
Free antigen testing continues from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each weekday at TechCare. Schedule your free test at https://gctechcare.simplybook.me/v2/#book.
As more of us get our vaccines, please remember to wear your masks and socially distance in order to protect all the members of our community. Have a safe and restful weekend, Bulldogs!
