Dear campus community,
Good Friday morning.
Today, I’d like to remind everyone about the policy for notifying our campus when you’ve been in direct contact (within six feet for a time period of 15 minutes or more) with someone who has COVID-19, have symptoms of COVID-19, or have tested positive for COVID-19. Contact tracing has played a major role in reducing COVID-19 spread on our campus and we are thankful for everyone’s cooperation throughout this pandemic.
Employees should notify their direct supervisor and human resources. The contact in human resources is Sheila Trammel at 318.257.2235 or email@example.com. Supervisors must maintain strict confidentiality.
Students should email Stacy Gilbert at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please provide your name, campus ID, cell phone, whether you live on or off campus, and best method to contact you.
Free COVID-19 PCR testing is still available on our campus. It’s available at the Argent Alumni Pavilion from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The link to register for testing is http://health.questdiagnostics.com/STLOU.
Free antigen testing is available at Green Clinic’s TechCare location in the Lambright Wellness Center. The clinic is open from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and closed for lunch from 12:30 to 1 p.m. Walk-ins are accepted until 3:45 p.m. You should schedule your free test through TechCare’s online scheduling system at https://gctechcare.simplybook.me/v2/#book.
If you have not gotten your COVID-19 vaccine, review the Vaccine Locations list on the Louisiana Department of Health’s website (https://ldh.la.gov/covidvaccine-locations/) for information on scheduling an appointment.
Remember all these measures are helping us keep our students, faculty, staff, and community members healthy and safe.
Big Tech Weekend
This weekend is full of activities. I look forward to seeing many of you at Joe Aillet Stadium at 8:30 AM on Saturday as we join with student leadership in the Big Event, one of our favorite activities of the year. Our 14th ranked Diamond Dogs will be playing arch rival Southern Miss at the Love Shack at 2:00 pm and 6 pm on Saturday (also 6PM Friday and 1PM Sunday.) There are many other activities on campus as well.
Have a great weekend, and continue to be safe!
