Dear Tech Family,
Good Monday morning.
Tomorrow, we will mark our University’s third annual Giving Day.
This year’s theme, “One Day, One Goal, One Family” highlights our love for Louisiana Tech and our commitment to the Tech Family.
On Tuesday, you can give to a particular college, department, or any other Louisiana Tech fund through the Giving Day site. Every gift is important to help move our University ahead. We are grateful to so many alumni and friends who give to support our students, faculty, and programs throughout the year. Our first Giving Day in 2019 occurred a few days after the Ruston tornado tore through our campus, and we had an incredible response from so many at that time.
Vaccines and testing
Remember that testing and vaccinations are two of the best ways we have to stop the spread of COVID-19.
If you have not gotten your COVID-19 vaccine, review the Vaccine Locations list on the Louisiana Department of Health’s website (https://ldh.la.gov/covidvaccine-locations/) for information on scheduling an appointment.
Free testing is still available on our campus. It’s available at the Argent Alumni Pavilion from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The link to register for testing is http://health.questdiagnostics.com/STLOU.
Free antigen testing is available at Green Clinic’s TechCare location in the Lambright Wellness Center. The clinic is open from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. You should schedule your free test through TechCare’s online scheduling system at https://gctechcare.simplybook.me/v2/#book.
COVID-19 Pandemic Experts visit campus today!
If you want to get some GREAT information about the COVID-19 pandemic, please register for today’s final seminar in the New Frontiers in Biomedical Research series will take place on TODAY at 3:30pm over WebEx. This special event will feature two clinician scientists from LSU Health Science Center in New Orleans who have been heavily involved in both the state and New Orleans response to COVID-19: Dr. Lucio Miele and Dr. Rebekah Gee. They will share their knowledge of vaccines, address concerns about variants, and share their views on how we move forward. Registration is required and events are free and open to the public. Thanks to Dr. Jamie Newman and Dr. Mary Caldorera-Moore for organizing this series for our campus!
