Dear students, faculty, and staff,
Good Friday morning.
We are one week out from the Faculty and Staff Barbecue!
This is a time for us to gather and to show our appreciation for all of the hard work that has been put in to making the 2020-21 Academic Year a success. Faculty and staff will be treated to a delicious meal from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, May 13, in the TONK. I plan to be there the whole time and look forward to seeing you there.
Enjoy your meal with your colleagues or get your plate to go. If you have not RSVP’d yet, please do so online at https://forms.office.com/r/R2wd9grbjd so we can plan accordingly.
Students, we have something planned for you as well – the Annual President’s Midnight Breakfast on Monday, May 17.
Many of your faculty members, deans, coaches, and staff members will be ready to serve you in the Tech Table. Our outstanding Jazz Ensemble is gearing up to provide some wonderful tunes in Centennial Plaza during the event.
More details will be sent to you in the coming week!
Every day, college students spend hours of their time on social-media platforms.
Dr. Johnette Magner’s Digital Well-being class is sponsoring Digital Wellness Day today to bring awareness to the dangers of unhealthy social media use, as well as actions that can be taken for students to better their relationships with technology and social media.
Members of the class worked together to determine what actions can be taken for individuals to become healthier users of social media and technology. I join with them to encourage everyone to Digital Wellness Day – a day away from social media – together.
Have a relaxing weekend, Tech Family. We’re in the home stretch for our academic year, so enjoy some time in the sun in preparation for a busy couple of weeks left in the quarter.
