Dear students, faculty, and staff,
Good Wednesday morning.
As we near the end of the Spring Quarter heading towards finals, more campus events, and the uncertainties of the next steps in life, we know that tensions will rise. This whole year has been full of events and challenges that have added to stress levels. I greatly appreciate the work of our student leaders who have organized activities to bring us together throughout the quarter and lift our spirits. But we recognize that many remain stressed at this time.
Throughout the pandemic year, the Louisiana Tech Counseling Center has been a vital part of campus life. The professionals there pivoted their group and individual counseling sessions online early in the pandemic, and as we’ve returned to a more normal way of life, they’ve brought back more in-person offerings.
I’m thankful for these counselors in Keeny Hall and their dedication to our Tech Family, and I cannot wait to see what innovative programs they establish in the 2021-22 academic year.
To close the 2020-21 year, the Counseling Center has planned a Be Kind to Your Mind De-stress Day for Louisiana Tech. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. this Thursday, they will provide a variety of events for our community to enjoy in both Centennial Plaza and the Quad.
Their partners in this event are LA Tech Athletics, Barnes and Noble, KLPI, the Lambright Sports and Wellness Center, Aramark, and the Krewe of Champ.
We’ll enjoy a dunking booth, bash car, yoga, puppies, music, food, and giveaways, and I look forward to seeing you all there!
As a reminder, TechCare will have COVID-19 vaccinations available through today. This is the Johnson & Johnson one dose and is being offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Sign up today at https://gctechcare.simplybook.me/v2/#book. If you haven’t been vaccinated, please consider doing so today!
Have a great day, Bulldogs!
