Campus Update – WRLDINVISN
January 7th, 2022
Dear students, faculty, and staff,
Good Friday morning!
Yesterday, I had the opportunity to sit down with Tech graduates Marlon Watts and Nicholas Clark of WRLDINVISN for an episode of their podcast, which is focused on achieving your dreams and following your vision. We were joined by my good friend GSU President Rick Gallot for the episode, and I look forward to seeing the finished product soon.
Marlon and Nick have always inspired me with their focus and commitment to Ruston and Louisiana Tech. Their sharp focus on moving their business and brand forward shines as a positive example of what one can achieve with hard work. In fact, they’re so inspiring that we featured them in an issue of 1894: The Alumni Magazine focused on passion and an accompanying Beyond 1894 podcast.
Louisiana Tech University has helped thousands of students achieve their dreams since 1894, and we’re committed to continuing the work to transform lives through higher education. As we start this new year, I encourage you to focus on what steps – small or large – you need to take to achieve your dreams. And then, as Nick and Marlon would say, Follow Your Vision.
Spring Career Day
One step you can take right now to achieve your dreams is to begin to work with the Louisiana Tech Career Center. Spring Career Day will be held Feb. 9-10, and it’s never too late to prepare for your future career.
Go to Handshake and register for the appropriate session for your major. Be sure to register early to gain insight on which companies will be there. You’ll also have access to the floor map so you can plan your day well before the event.
Professional dress is required to attend Spring Career Day. The Career Closet is here for you, and representatives of this interdisciplinary student service will be in the TONK for a special Career Day Prep Event Jan. 25-26.
During the event, you will have access to the Career Closet, can get resume support, practice interview skills, and more! Visit Handshake for more information on the Career Day Prep Event!
Tech Family Walking Group
We will begin the new year for our Tech Family Walking Group at 8 a.m. tomorrow in Aspire Plaza (between the College of Business and Keeny Hall).
If you’ve started the new year committed to greater health and wellness, I invite you to take a little time to enjoy walking and talking with colleagues and friends this Saturday. A healthier journey starts with small steps, and the group would love to welcome new members in 2022.
Have a restful weekend and enjoy time with friends and family, Bulldogs. I look forward to seeing you next week!
