Town of Hull, MA, located approx 20 miles south of Boston has a year round population of 11,000 with summer increase to about 33,000.  Some of the sewers in the older parts of town were built in the 1860s, with most of the newer sewers installed in the 1970s and early 1980s. A secondary wastewater treatment facility using a conventional activated sludge process with a design capacity of 3.07 mgd began operation in 1980. There are approximately 4,400 homes and businesses connected to the system. The collection system consists of four miles of 30 and 36 inch diameter reinforced concrete sewer, with about 15% with a cured-in-place-pipelining; along with a four barrel siphon and a two barrel depressed sewer on the interceptor r; over 40 miles of collector sewers; and seven pumping stations.
