Leading the Future of Business Education

The Ph.D. in Business Administration at Louisiana Tech University is a full-time, in-residence program designed to prepare scholars for successful careers in academia. Our program emphasizes excellence in both research and teaching, equipping graduates to contribute meaningful insights to public and private organizations through scholarly inquiry and classroom leadership.

Doctoral students specialize in one of the following areas:

  • Computer Information Systems
  • Finance
  • Management
  • Marketing

Please note: The program is not currently accepting applicants for the Accounting concentration.

We admit a new Ph.D. cohort every other year, with 3–4 students per cohort. This small, selective model fosters close mentorship and collaboration, creating a strong support network among doctoral peers and faculty. Students progress through a carefully designed sequence of coursework, research development, and dissertation writing.

We are now accepting applications for the Fall 2026 cohort of Ph.D. in Business Administration candidates. For best consideration, please submit your application and accompanying materials by Dec. 1, 2025. The application will close Feb. 1, 2026, and initial offers will be made early 2026.

Our graduates go on to hold faculty positions at AACSB-accredited universities across the country, contributing impactful research and shaping the next generation of business professionals. Our graduates possess

  • Excellence in teaching: The pedagogical skills needed to educate and engage future business leaders.
  • Strong communication abilities: Both written and oral, for success in academic and professional environments.

Pierre Andrieux
Ph.D. Candidate in Business Administration (Management - OB/HR)

The Ph.D. program in Business Administration at the Louisiana Tech College of Business has been a life-changing experience for me both personally and professionally. Through learning theories of management (my area of emphasis) and advanced statistical methods, I feel prepared to tackle an increasingly competitive Academia and contribute to science while delivering a cutting-edge, student-focused teaching experience in the classroom. As part of my research, I investigate (1) work goal inhibitors and stress, (2) justice and between-foci attributions, and (3) generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) at work. More than anything, I am grateful to the faculty, employees, and students who all made this experience rewarding and intellectually stimulating for me, reflecting our caring and people-centered culture.
