The Master of Arts in Counseling and Guidance (MACG) equips students with the knowledge and hands-on experience needed to support the mental, emotional, and practical needs of individuals and communities. This graduate program offers four concentrations tailored to students’ career goals: Counseling Psychology, Human Services, Orientation & Mobility, and Rehabilitation Teaching for the Blind. Through a blend of academic coursework, practicum, and internship experiences, students prepare for roles in professional counseling, human service delivery, or vision rehabilitation. The Counseling Psychology concentration prepares graduates to pursue licensure as Licensed Professional Counselors (LPCs), while the Human Services track is ideal for those interested in non-licensed roles in social and community support. The Orientation & Mobility and Rehabilitation Teaching concentrations include immersive blindness training at the Louisiana Center for the Blind, preparing professionals to teach independent travel and daily living skills to people with visual impairments.
