Competitive Freshman Scholarships

Colvin Memorial Scholarship

Open To: Admitted incoming freshmen (all majors) who graduate from Dubach High School

Academic Requirements: 3.2 cumulative GPA and ACT: 24 or SAT: 1090 (CR+M)

Awards Available: One award for $800 for the fall quarter

Application Deadline: Apply for admission by priority deadline of January 5.

 

High School Rally Scholarship

Open To: Admitted incoming freshmen (A letter is automatically mailed to eligible students)

Additional Requirements Considered: Overall winner in selected events at the District Rally held at Louisiana Tech; Must attend Louisiana Tech in the fall quarter following high school graduation

Awards Available: $300 for the fall quarter

 

Marbury Alumni Scholarship

Open To: Admitted incoming freshmen who had at least one parent graduate from Louisiana Tech

Academic Requirements: 3.0 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 unweighted scale)

Available Awards: 15 awards for $1,000 for one academic year

Application Deadline: Apply for admission by priority deadline of January 5

 

McGee Scholarship-Bienville

Open To: Admitted incoming freshmen who graduate from Bienville Parish high school and remain in good standing at the university (Selections made by a board of principals and faculty members from the parish schools)

Awards Available: Awards made depending on funds available.

Maintaining Scholarship: Student must remain full-time and maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5

Application Deadline: Apply for admission by priority deadline of January 5

 

McGee Scholarship-Red River

Open To: Admitted incoming freshmen who graduate from Red River Parish high school and remain in good standing at the university (Selections made by a board of principals and faculty members from the parish schools)

Awards Available: Awards made depending on funds available.

Maintaining Scholarship: Must remain full-time and maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5.

Application Deadline: Apply for admission by priority deadline of January 5

 

Grant-in-aid and Service Awards

Frequently these are awarded on the basis of special skills and require the student to render a service to the University. Included in this category are scholarships in athletics, music, band, and academic department awards. These scholarships generally require a separate application or audition; contact the respective departments for more information.

 

Air Force ROTC Scholarships

The Air Force Reserve Officer’s Training Corps program offers a number of competitive scholarships to both men and women participants. This award may include payment of all tuition and fees, a per quarter allowance for textbooks, and a $300 per-month tax-free cash allowance.

 

Summer Program Scholarships

Summer Enrichment

Open To: High school students who just completed junior year and live on campus for the program

Academic Requirements: 3.0 cumulative GPA; Students can be full-time or part-time

Awards Available: Awards are for tuition for the summer only

Application Deadline: Must meet Summer Program deadlines

 

Summer Scholars

Open to: Incoming freshmen who just completed senior year and live on campus for the program

Academic Requirements: 3.0 cumulative GPA and ACT: 23 or SAT: 1050 (CR+M) and meet core course requirements (TOPS courses for in-state students); Students can be full-time or part-time.

Awards Available: Awards are for tuition for the summer only

Application Deadline: Must meet Summer Program deadlines
