Jane Jacob, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor of Psychology and Director of the Office
for Faculty Excellence at Louisiana Tech University. She earned her Ph.D. from the
University of Houston and completed postdoctoral training at the University of Westminster
in London, United Kingdom.She is a cognitive neuroscientist whose research examines
visual information processing, particularly the earliest stages of visual experience.
Her work explores how visual information is perceived, attended to, represented in
memory, and brought into conscious awareness. Through behavioral and neurophysiological
approaches, she investigates the mechanisms underlying attention, visual working memory,
and conscious perception.In addition to her research and teaching, Jane Jacob serves
as Director of the Office for Faculty Excellence, supporting faculty development and
academic excellence across the university.
