Dr. John Matthews has over 20 years of experience in the installation, rehabilitation, and inspection of infrastructure systems. He is the Director of the Trenchless Technology (TTC) and Eminent Scholar Chair in Construction at Louisiana Tech. Previously, he served as the Program Manager at Pure. Prior to joining Pure, he served as Water Infrastructure Lead at Battelle for five years, and as a Researcher at the TTC for six years, where he led numerous research studies related to pipeline infrastructure. He also has experience as a field inspector on numerous trenchless projects. He has given over 200 conference presentations and authored more than 300 technical publications. He is an active member of NASTT and ASCE and currently serves on the ISTT Board of Directors. He has named the Trenchless Technology Person of the Year by Trenchless Technology magazine in 2023 and he was honored with ISTT Fellow status in 2024.
