Overview

I am an ecologist and conservation biologist specializing in freshwater organisms. My current research focus is the conservation and ecology of aquatic insects, primarily beetles and true bugs. I mentor undergraduate and graduate students in research. We do experiments and observational studies in the field and lab involving habitat selection, drought, water quality, and bioacoustics. I teach courses on freshwater ecology, conservation, sustainability and global change. I am also the Coordinator for the Master's in Biology program.
