Graduation

There will be one Summer 2026 Commencement Ceremony for all colleges held at the Thomas Assembly Center on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at 10 a.m. Students will walk with the college of their primary program of study. 

If you are not participating in the ceremony, you must indicate this on the “Required – Complete Graduation Application Questionnaire” task after completing the “Application for Program Completion” in Workday.

• We have NO Rehearsal, so graduates must arrive at the Thomas Assembly Center, through the upper concourse which is to the right of the main entrance at least 45 minutes prior to the ceremony.
• Decorated cap/mortar boards are NOT allowed to be worn at the ceremony.
• There are no storage areas for graduates’ personal items (bags, cameras, keys, etc.) so plan accordingly. Do not bring these items into the Thomas Assembly Center with you!

Important Information for Guests

Family and friends who are unable to attend commencement can watch the events via Facebook Live.

• Tickets are not required/not in use.
• Doors to the Thomas Assembly Center open one hour before the ceremony for guests to be seated.

Bags & Bag Search

Guests bringing items will need to adhere to the LA Tech Athletics Bag Policy. Guests will NOT be allowed entrance into the venue carrying any bag, package, or container not in compliance with the following:

• Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC and do not exceed 12″ x 6″ x 12″
• One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar)
• Small clutch bags, no larger than 4.5″ x 6.5″, with or without a handle or strap can be taken into the venue with one of the clear plastic bags.
• An exception will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection. Prohibited items include but are not limited to purses larger than a clutch bag, coolers, briefcases, backpacks, fanny packs, cinch bags, non-approved seat cushions, and chairbacks, luggage of any kind, computer bags, and camera bags or any bag larger than the permissible size.
• Banners and pep signs are allowed, provided they are handheld of reasonable size, can be stored beneath the seat, and do not block the view of other patrons. Any banner or sign containing profanity or objectionable material will be confiscated.
