Students transferring should submit an application and official transcript(s) from each college attended, regardless of whether credit was earned or transferable.
All transcripts must be sent directly from each college or university to Louisiana Tech University. Failure to report attendance at any previous institution may result in the cancellation of admission or dismissal from the university.
All prior coursework is evaluated using Louisiana Tech University standards for probation, suspension, grade point average, and credit hours—regardless of the policies or outcomes at other institutions.
Students currently under scholastic or disciplinary suspension from another college or university will not be admitted. Admission may only be considered once the suspension period has ended. If no specific time is stated by the previous institution, the suspension period must be equivalent to Louisiana Tech’s standards.
A maximum of 68 semester hours from a junior or community college may be applied toward a bachelor’s degree at Louisiana Tech. Typically, only freshman- and sophomore-level courses offered at Louisiana Tech are accepted from junior or community colleges.
The graduate transfer admission category applies to an applicant who
Transfer admission students must meet the same requirements as entering graduate students and be in good academic standing at the current institution (i.e., be eligible to return to the previous institution). An official transcript from the current institution reflecting the up-to-date academic record must be submitted before an admission decision can be made.

It is important that you note any asterisks, double asterisks, and/or end notes that may be associated with a course, as these will help determine whether the course in question will be accepted as equivalent.
Louisiana Tech University also offers the Transfer Evaluation System to its students to provide students with an up-to-date library of all of our established equivalencies from institutions that we have previously received transfer credit. Please note that your department is responsible for accepting all transfer credits towards your curriculum. The Associate of Science Louisiana Transfer degree (ASLT) and the Associate of Arts Louisiana Transfer degree (AALT) are specifically designed for students who wish to start at a Louisiana community college, earn an associate degree and then “block transfer” that degree to a 4-year university for the purpose of obtaining a bachelor’s degree. Students who possess a Louisiana Transfer associate degree are automatically admitted to Louisiana Tech University.
