The Senior Design Competition highlights the capstone projects developed by graduating students across the College of Engineering and Science. Representing all 13 academic programs within the college, these projects reflect the culmination of students’ academic preparation and hands-on engineering experience. Working individually or in teams, students apply advanced technical knowledge, design methodologies, and problem-solving skills to address complex, real-world challenges.
Throughout their senior design courses, students develop innovative solutions that often involve collaboration with faculty mentors, industry partners, or community stakeholders. Projects frequently include the design, construction, testing, and evaluation of functional prototypes, systems, or research-driven solutions.
Presented during the Design and Research Conference, the Senior Design Competition showcases the depth of knowledge, creativity, and professional readiness of COES graduates as they prepare to enter the engineering and science workforce.
