Building the future from the ground up—turning engineering plans into real-world infrastructure.
Each CET team developed a unique solution for the Buffalo Creek Lift Station No. 2 project for the North Texas Municipal Water District.
Background Details:
In 2021 a Buffalo Creek Interceptor System Capacity Assessment & Assurance report was done and identified the need for additional capacity. To accommodate the growth in Forney, Heath, and Rockwall and increase wastewater conveyance capacity in the Buffalo Creek Interceptor System, the addition of a new Lift Station (LS) is necessary. This will be a new 32 million gallon per day (MGD) lift station to convey projected flows to the South Mesquite Creek RWWTP and will help the system be reliable and resilient. It will parallel the existing Buffalo Creek Lift Station No. 1.
In December 2021, the Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) approved $37 million in low-interest state funding from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund for the Buffalo Creek LS No. 2. Construction is expected to begin in early 2026. The new lift station will be in service by the end of 2027.
