Warren WardDr. Warren Ward, Colonel (Ret.), United States Air Force, who serves as director of operations at the Louisiana Tech Research Institute (LTRI) and CEO of Louisiana Tech Applied Research Corporation (LTARC) will give a keynote address during tomorrow’s 9/11 Remembrance ceremony. The ceremony, hosted by Bossier City, in partnership with Keep Bossier Beautiful, at the Bossier City Municipal Complex.

The community is invited to gather in remembrance of the lives lost during the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks and to honor the service and sacrifice of first responders, military personnel, and community heroes.

Ward brings decades of experience, which includes Operation Secret Squirrel, the top-secret mission launched from Barksdale Air Force Base in 1991 that marked the opening strike of the Gulf War. His involvement in the mission, combined with his continued service to education and innovation, makes him a fitting voice for this year’s ceremony.

The program will include a moment of silence, prayers of remembrance, and a reflection from local leaders and students. In addition to the ceremony, more than 3,000 American flags will be displayed along POW Drive. The flags are being placed by students from the Camp Minden Youth Challenge Program in tribute to the victims and heroes of September 11.

The ceremony begins at 9 a.m. and is free and open to the public.
