About the Student Security Operations Center
The Louisiana Tech Student Security Operations Center (SSOC) is a student-driven cybersecurity organization dedicated to protecting campus digital assets, monitoring for threats, and providing hands‑on security experience to the next generation of cyber professionals.
Working alongside Louisiana Tech IT Security and industry partners (TEKStream , AWS, Splunk, & Crowdstrike), SSOC offers students the opportunity to gain real-world experience while supporting the university’s cybersecurity mission.
Our goals include:
- Monitoring and analyzing real‑time security alerts
- Supporting campus-wide cybersecurity awareness
- Performing threat research and intelligence gathering
- Providing incident triage under professional supervision
- Offering workshops, training, and certification support
