Policy:
Direct supervisors must permit staff members to meet with committees and conduct work for those committees for a minimum of one hour per week. Time spent in service on official Louisiana Tech University committees shall be considered part of the normal workweek for unclassified and classified staff. Staff members are not obligated to work additional hours to substitute for the time taken for these committee obligations, nor are they required to “clock out” and not be paid for this time. Unit heads reserve the right to restrict committee service of the staff member beyond one hour per week if this service interferes with completion of regular job duties. Staff members may appeal this decision to the next higher-level supervisor.
