Louisiana Tech’s College of Education is sponsoring the 10th Annual School Law Institute in Baton Rouge, Sept. 25-26. This event, which will be led by law firm Hammonds and Sills, will educate public school officials, school administrators and attorneys on both federal and state law and the execution of policies related to educating students in the public school system.

The two-day, 11-hour presentation will also address issues from the 2008 Louisiana legislative session.

The program has grown to about 150 attendees and is approved by the Louisiana Bar Association for continuing legal units for accreditation.

The School Law Institute will be held 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. both days at the Embassy Suites Hotel. Registration fee for school district attendees is $305 ($330 after August 29) and for attorneys is $320 ($345 after August 29). A buffet lunch will be included in the fee. Early registration must be completed and paid by the deadline to receive the reduced rate. Forms and more information are available at the Law Day web site, www.latech.edu/lawday.
