Louisiana Tech’s Student Health Center will hold a Wellness Fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Nov. 6 on the main floor of the Health Center.
The Student Health Center is located in South Hall, on Hergot Street across from the Institute for Micromanufacturing.
A variety of free services will be offered, including eye exams, blood glucose tests and blood pressure checks.
Services offered for a fee include lab work, which will be conducted by North Louisiana Medical Center. Testing for cholesterol levels will cost $10, and testing for cholesterol levels plus a Prostate-Specific Antigen Test will cost $15. Fasting after midnight is recommended before undergoing lab work, which will begin at 8 a.m. in the Student Center.
There will also be influenza shots administered by Maxim Health. Flu shots will cost $30 while pneumonia inoculations will be $45. Payment must be made in cash, by check, or insurance from Medicare Plan B or Aetna.
Included as part of the Wellness Fair will be informational booths by community and university participants.
