Louisiana Tech’s Stone Theatre will host open auditions for the winter production of “Private Lives” at 5:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 8-9, in the Stone Theatre.
Those planning to audition should sign up on the callboard outside Howard Auditorium, Room 304, and prepare a one-minute comedic monologue, preferably showcasing a British dialect.
Written by Noel Coward, “Private Lives” is a classic comedy of bad manners, dry humor and quicksilver sparring that is both daringly hilarious and elegantly sexy. The storyline follows a divorced couple, Amanda and Elyot, who have both recently remarried and have accidentally booked adjoining suites at the same hotel for their honeymoons.
Paul B. Crook, an assistant professor of theater, will direct the play, and the scheduled performance dates are Feb. 4-7 and Feb. 11-14. All performances will take place at 7:30 p.m. in the Stone Theatre.
For more information about the auditions or the production, call the theater office at (318) 257-2930.
