Louisiana Tech’s mascot will make an appearance at the Idea Place’s last Sci-Fri of 2008 this Friday, Dec. 19. Children can have an opportunity to meet Tech XX from 6:30-7:30 p.m.

Tuition for the Friday event is $20 and includes a pizza dinner and drink, as well as the Sci-Fri program, which will last from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Late pick-up, which would allow parents 30 extra minutes, is offered for $5 per child.

This week the IDEA Place will also offer a nightly Christmas Planetarium show at 7 p.m. There will be two showings on Saturday, Dec. 20, one at 1 p.m. and the other at 7 p.m. On Sunday, they will have a show at 7 p.m. as well. Tech students and faculty get in free with ID. They can also bring guests at a rate of $2 per child and $3 per adult.

The IDEA Place also has ideas for last-minute Christmas shopping. Gift certificates for Summer Science, Sci-Fri nights and admission to the IDEA place are available, as well as options to adopt an exhibit in honor of someone, science and math books, and IDEA Place T-shirts for $3.

For more information or to reserve a spot for late pick-up for Sci-Fri, call Lindsey B. Keith-Vincent, museum educator, at (318) 257-2866 for details.
