Dr. Norm Pumphrey, director of Louisiana Tech’s Bulldog Achievement Resource Center (BARC) and associate professor of civil engineering, will discuss student success strategies as a featured presenter for a web conference sponsored by Noel-Levitz on Tuesday, March 3 at 1:00 p.m.

Colleges and universities from around the nation will participate in the web conference titled, How We Retain More Students by Intervening Earlier.

“Louisiana Tech has made great strides in retention over the past 15 years, and Noel-Levitz has noticed that fact,” says Pumphrey. “I was honored to be invited to share our successes in working with our first-year students through University Seminar, our early intervention process, and other first-year experience activities.”

Noel-Levitz is one of the nation’s premier higher education consulting firms, specializing in strategic planning for enrollment and student success.

The web conference will focus on identifying students that are most likely to have difficulties, strengthening connections with students, and increasing student persistence in order to help guide them toward graduation.

The web conference is free to attend and open to all Louisiana Tech faculty and staff.
