Sally Clausen, the commissioner of higher education for the state Board of Regents, will serve as Louisiana Tech’s commencement speaker for the winter quarter graduation ceremonies.

Clausen formerly served as the president of the University of Louisiana System, which has eight universities under its governance: Tech, Grambling State, McNeese State, Nicholls State, Northwestern State, Southeastern Louisiana, University of Louisiana- Lafayette and University of Louisiana-Monroe. She has also served as the Secretary of Education for the Office of the Governor and president of Southeastern Louisiana University.

Clausen, a graduate of Louisiana State University-Baton Rouge, is active in Special Olympics and was inducted into the LSU Alumni Association Hall of Distinction in 2004.

Tech’s graduation will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 7 in the Thomas Assembly Center.

General registration and fee payment for all new and readmitted students and those continuing students who did not complete early registration and fee payment for the spring quarter is March 10. Classes for spring quarter will start March 11.
