The 2009 North Louisiana District High School Rally will be held at Louisiana Tech on Saturday, March 21.

The winners will qualify for the State Rally, which will be held in Baton Rouge, except for those who won first place in a subject for which there is only district testing.

Students from 66 schools will participate. Joan Edinger, rally director and assistant director of admissions at Tech, said testing in the 48 subjects is separated into five divisions, based on school size. The number of students qualifying for State Rally is determined by the number of contestants entering the specific subject category per division.

Subjects students can compete in include physics, introduction to business, accounting, journalism, world geography, consumer homemaking and others.

The state rally is set for April 25.
