Louisiana Tech’s Student Nurse Association held a Career Day recently and four scholarships were awarded to nursing students at the university.

Approximately 23 vendors, including area hospitals, Kaplan Review, U.S. Army and others attended Career Day.

Four scholarships worth $250 each were also awarded by Uniforms for You, located in West Monroe. The recipients are Cynthia Davidson, president of SNA and a junior from Dubach; Sheena Battles, vice president of SNA and a senior from Monroe; LaTasha Mollette, a senior from Ruston; and Donald Jambois, a senior from Monroe.

Also recognized were Mollette, Reggie Hall, a sophomore nursing major from Shreveport, and Sandra Brown, a junior from Monroe, as featured nursing students.

“In today’s economy, nurses can always find a job and have options of where they might want to work,” said Beth Fife, an associate professor of nursing. “Sheena Battles, vice president of SNA, was in charge of putting Career Day together. It was a great success.”
