Incoming art students receive scholarships at Louisiana Tech

The School of Art at Louisiana Tech is very pleased to announce the awarding of six 2009 art tuition scholarships for incoming students.

Benjamin Geisert is one of the 2009 art tuition scholarship award winners. Geisert submitted work created under the tutelage of art teacher Ted Smith at Lake Hamilton High School in Pearcy, Ark. Of the many who applied for these scholarships, Geisert is the recipient of a special $3,000 award.

Corey Gunter submitted work created under the guidance of art teacher Cheryl Gianforte at Natchitoches Central High School in Natchitoches, and is the recipient of a special $3,000 award.

Sophia Maras submitted work created under the direction of art teacher Chris King at LSMSA in Franklinton, and is also the recipient of a special $3,000 award.

Shelbi Young of Florence High School in Star, Miss., was honored for her work under the guidance of art teacher Carla Nation and received a $2,500 award, as did Lake Hamilton High School student Angel Caitilin of Hot Springs, Ark.

Lindsey Brough of Murray High School in Salt Lake City submitted work done under the leadership of art teacher Richard White and picked up a $1,000 award.
