Sociology professor speaks on the solar future

A Louisiana Tech sociology professor was the keynote speaker recently for the OMNI Center for Peace, Justice and Ecology in Fayetteville, Ark.

Dr. Richard Hutchinson, an assistant professor of sociology and the Larson Endowed Professor of Sociology, spoke at the city”s recent Springfest celebration on the topic “Fighting for the Solar Future.”

Recent publications by Hutchinson include “The Evolution of Evolutionary Thought” in the Spring 2009 “Newsletter of the ASA Section of Evolution, Biology and Society,” “God and the Bodhisattva: A Buddhist Reading of Stranger Than Fiction” in the Spring 2009 “Journal of Religion and Film” and “The Ecological Apocalypse of 1972: Science and Social Movements in John Brunner”s The Sheep Look Up” in the “2008 POMPA” (Publications of the Mississippi Philological Association).
