Sep 25, 2009 | General News

Louisiana Tech’s TOP DAWG Business Plan Competition is looking for students from all majors to make their product or service ideas a reality.

Students are encouraged to enter the annual TOP DAWG Idea Pitch competition. Students must answer five questions about their idea and give a three- to five-minute presentation of the answers.

Entry forms are available at http://www.abese.org or at the College of Business building, Room 207 and are due Thursday, Oct. 8.

The contest will be judged Monday, Oct. 26 in the Tonk. The 10 winning teams will be announced on Friday, Oct. 30.

Voting will be done by professional judges and the student body. Students can view the actual presentations in the Tonk or view videos online. Student voting will be conducted via text message.

The Top 10 ideas as voted by the students and judges will get $200 after the teams complete the business plan competition, meeting space in the TOP DAWG planning office in the Tech’s Enterprise Center and coaching to prepare complete plans for a for-profit or non-profit organization to enter the TOP DAWG Business Plan Competition in the winter quarter.

The TOP DAWG was established in 2002 and was organized by the student organization and ABESE, the Association of Business Engineering and Science Entrepreneurs. ABESE promotes and cultivates an entrepreneurial culture on the Tech campus.
