Tech Homecoming events slated

“There’s No School like Old School” at Louisiana Tech, and the university plans to live up to this year’s theme and excite students, alumni and friends during the week preceding Homecoming, which will be Saturday, Oct. 17.

A list of the events for the week follows.

Monday, Oct. 12

• 8 a.m.– Spirit Signs to decorate the campus Plaza

• 3–30 p.m.– Paint the Town, meet at the Plaza

• 7 p.m.– Kick-Off Pep Rally/Unity Step Show at Memorial Gym

Tuesday, Oct. 13

• 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.– Fun Day/Dunk Your Leader at the Plaza

• 5 p.m.– Scavenger Hunt at the Plaza

• 7 p.m.– Panhellenic Council Special Program at Howard Auditorium

Wednesday, Oct. 14

• 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.– Organizational Day, when all campus groups can display information about themselves in the Plaza

• 7 p.m.– Union Board Talent Show at Howard Auditorium

Thursday, Oct. 15

• 5 p.m.– Parade Line-up at Joe Alliet Stadium

• 6 p.m. – Parade starts at Joe Alliet Stadium

Friday, Oct. 16

• 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.– Tower Stand at the Plaza

• 6– 15 p.m.– Pep Rally in the Thomas Assembly Center

Saturday, Oct. 17

• 1 p.m.– Tailgate Party around Joe Alliet Stadium

• 3 p.m.– Game — Tech vs. New Mexico at Joe Alliet Stadium

Sunday, Oct. 18

• 3 p.m.– Paint the Town Clean-up at the Plaza

This year’s parade grand marshal will be Drake Mills, Alumnus of the Year. The parade route will be longer than last year’s and will travel the following route:

Start on Alabama Avenue at the Thomas Assembly Center. Turn right on Tech Drive, left on Hergot Avenue, left on Wisteria Street through campus, right on Railroad Avenue, left on Everett Street, left on Alabama Avenue, right on Western Street, left on Bearcat Drive and then left on Tech Drive to head back to the TAC.
