Music abounds at Tech during November

Five musical performances are in the works at Louisiana Tech for November, including several recitals and a choral concert.

The fall choral concert will take place at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10 at Howard Auditorium, Center for the Performing Arts. Featured performances include music from Hogan, Faure, Praetorius, Handel, Randall Thompson and Rene Clausen. The choir will be assisted by Ann Sorensen, adjunct professor of music, on violin and Karl Puljak, School of Architecture director, on cello.

Recitals for November include:

• Kristen Freiss, a senior music major from Ruston, will present her senior recital Saturday, Nov. 7 in the Piano Recital Hall;

• Guest artist Michael Patilla will perform Wednesday, Nov. 11 in the Guitar Recital Hall;

• Madelyne Godley, a junior music major from Ruston, will have her junior recital Friday, Nov. 13 in the Piano Recital Hall; and

• A string area recital will take place Monday, Nov. 16 in the Recital Hall.

All performances begin at 7:30 p.m. and are located in Howard Auditorium, Center for the Performing Arts. The events are free and open to the public.
