An assistant professor of kinesiology at Louisiana Tech has been named the state director for the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

Dr. David Szymanski’s appointment, which will last two years, means the state headquarters for NSCA will move to Louisiana Tech.

Szymanski is also an associate editor for NSCA’s research journals, which include the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research, and the Strength and Conditioning Journal.

Szymanski has worked with the Louisiana Tech baseball team for the past five years and is considered one of the top baseball researchers in the country. He is also affiliated with the American College of Sports Medicine and the Southeastern ACSM, which is the regional branch of the ACSM. He teaches undergraduate and graduate-level kinesiology classes.
