Tech’s College of Engineering and Science receives state-of-the art equipment

Dec 7, 2009 | General News

Delta Process Equipment Company of Baton Rouge has given Louisiana Tech’s College of Engineering and Science a new pump demonstration unit for its fluids laboratory. The unit, which was built especially for Louisiana Tech, is a Gorman-Rupp suction lift pump complete with variable speed driver, flow measurement capability, and multipoint point pressure measurement. The setup is valued at twenty thousand dollars.

Dr. Dixie Griffin, professor of civil engineering, says the new pump will give students the opportunity to work with equipment they will find in the field upon graduation. “This new pump setup allows us to demonstrate to students how pumps work using a ‘real world’ pump rather than a small laboratory type pump.”

Delta Process is a recognized leader in the field of fluid and gas handling and water/wastewater equipment. The company has served the municipal marketplace for over 40 years.
