Louisiana Tech’s Division of University Advancement has released Vision and Veracity, the 2009 edition of the university’s annual Tech Report. Vision and Veracity presents many of Tech’s accomplishments over the past year as well as the successes of the institution’s long-range strategic plan, Tech 2020.

The Tech Report is published annually to highlight the university’s academic, research and athletic achievements, and to share its vision for the future of the institution.

“The Tech Report provides a pictorial and factual account of the University’s accomplishments over a year’s period,” said Corre Stegall, Louisiana Tech’s vice president for university advancement.

“This publication updates our progress in reaching the goals we set for ourselves in our strategic plan, and it’s exciting and challenging to see how much progress has been made in a short period of time.”

Vision and Veracity highlights a very successful, yet tumultuous year for Louisiana Tech.

Despite a significant mid-year reduction to its operating budget, Tech earned the distinction of being the only institution in Louisiana elevated to a higher tier (Tier 3) in US News & World Report’s 2010 Best Colleges report.

Tech also achieved the state’s highest ranking among public colleges and universities, according to Washington Monthly’s 2009 National College Rankings.

“I believe that the strength and the breadth of our contributions, as an institution, are undeniable,” says Louisiana Tech President Dan Reneau. “It’s rewarding to see that our efforts are being acknowledged on a national scale.”

“The entire Tech family is energized and enthusiastic as we build on this amazing record of success,” said Stegall. “Our message is simple and the title says it all: Louisiana Tech has a vision of excellence far beyond expectations, and this university communicates strength and pride in this summary of the year’s accomplishments – and the future challenges that the Tech family embraces.”
