Marie Bukowski - Catalyst #3, 2009Louisiana Tech’s School of Art galleries will open the Art Faculty Biennial Exhibition with an opening reception Tuesday, Jan. 12 for area residents to have an opportunity to meet the art faculty members.

Both the Main and Bellocq galleries will feature a diverse body of work including photography, painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics and graphic design. Many of the faculty’s personal works transcend their area of teaching into other realms of art.

“The strength of our faculty is one of the primary reasons that the School of Art has been designated as one of Louisiana Tech University’s Areas of Excellence by the University of Louisiana System,” said Jonathan Donehoo, director of the School of Art.

“This exhibition is our biannual opportunity to show the extraordinary creativity of our very talented faculty. I hope the Ruston and Lincoln Parish community will come by and see this work for themselves.”

Adrienne Hooker - Changing Habits, 2009Participating faculty members are Jerry Berg, Marie Bukowski, Nick Bustamante, Mary Louise Carter, Donehoo, Jay Gould, Frank Hamrick, Gary Hauser, Adrienne Hooker, Peter Jones, Kevin Kennedy, Todd Maggio, Patrick Miller, Jes Schrom, Joey Slaughter, Kathy Vellard and Saul Zalesch.

The exhibition will run through Tuesday, Feb. 9.
