World available at 10th annual International Scholarship Dinner

The International Student Office and the International Student Association at Louisiana Tech are planning for the 10th annual International Scholarship Dinner, which is slated for Saturday, Jan. 30, and tickets are already on sale.

An international menu has been prepared for the event, including food from India, Nepal, China and the Middle East. International students will also display clothing and dances, such as a Vietnamese dance, salsa dancing, a Nepali song and dance, India dances and many more. Each of the 50 tables will be hosted by an international student.

Each year the dinner helps to fund about 10 $500 scholarships. Criteria for the scholarship includes need, academics and participation. A scholarship committee meets to discuss the applications.

Tickets for the event usually sell out before the event but are available by calling (318) 257-4321 or by coming by the International Student Office, located in Tolliver Hall, Room 229. For students, tickets are $12, and for non-students they are $18. The dinner will take place on the main floor of Tech’s Student Center. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m.
