Tech to host annual Southeastern Composers' League Forum

Louisiana Tech’s department of music will present the 59th annual Southeastern Composers’ League Forum March 19-20.

The forum will consist of four concerts, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 19. Saturday’s concerts will be at 8 a.m., 9:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. All concerts will be held in Howard Auditorium, Center for the Performing Arts. Admission is free.

The concerts will be hosted by Dr. Joe L. Alexander, an associate professor of music and head of the music theory/composition and low brass.

The Southeastern Composers’ League is an organization comprised of serious music composers and scholars located throughout the southeastern United States in Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia. Many of the members fill distinguished faculty positions throughout the region’s universities and educational institutions. Alexander serves as the president of the group.
